This qualification will provide you with an understanding of how social and medical advances have led to improvement in public health. 

You will learn how, at an individual level, lifestyle choices and behaviours can have a positive and negative effect on health. You will use this knowledge to identify changes you could make to your lifestyle, before learning how to apply this knowledge to help improve other peoples health.

 

This qualification is particularly appropriate:

  • If you are preparing for a career or further study in the  health and social care sector.

  • As a foundation for those already working in supporting health or care roles.

 

Dates and times

Evening course on a Wednesday 6pm - 8pm (6 weeks) 

 

Entry requirements

No formal educational qualifications required for entry onto this course and if you have special assessment needs please do let us know, as there is support available

 

Assessment

An end of course examination consisting of 30 multiple choice questions. Support is available if you have special assessment needs.

 

Award

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Level 1 Award in Health Improvement from The Royal Society for Public Health.

  • The full cost of this course is £160.
