RSPH Level 4 Certificate in Nutrition for Physical Activity and Sports
This level 4 government regulated qualification is perfect for you if you want an evidenced-based, scientific understanding of the nutritional requirement for optimal health. It is particularly relevant if you are a sports or fitness professions and have a role in the promotion of healthy eating or the preparation of meals, menus and diets for sports people at all levels of ability. The objective of the qualification is to provide knowledge and understanding of the nutritional requirements for a healthy diet, the effect of diet on health and the importance of hydration. These principles are then applied to fulfilling the dietary requirements for physical activity and sport.
The qualification is divided into two units: Principles of Nutrition and Nutrition for Physical Activity and Sport. The qualification will be awarded to any learner who attains the learning outcomes for these units.
A separate Level 4 Award is available for candidates wishing to take only the Principles of Nutrition unit.
It is recommended that learners should have achieved a level of education equivalent to five GCSEs, however, exemptions will be made for adult returners with relevant experience.
This course is assessed via written assignment. There are no examinations.
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a Level 4 Certificate in Nutrition for Physical Activity and Sport from The Royal Society for Public Health.
